Well I have decided to do something really stupid (I know again).
My daughter said Hey Dad lets do the Surf City 1/2 Marathon.
Yep you guessed it I said YES. How can you say no to your daughter.
You can try but in the end you will give in and do it.
First I AM NOT A RUNNER ! ! ! I am a cyclist I can knock out 50 or 60 miles easy
We have now been at the running thing for a few weeks. It hurts I could not even make it to the end of the block at first. Yesterday I made it 4 miles not all running mind you. More like run 2 minutes walk 2 minutes but hey I made it and am here blogging about it. I even joined a running group to help me train. I even went out and bought some running clothes now I can look the part. Can anyone say POSER? Maybe in a few weeks I will feel more like a runner and not a pathetic Old Guy trying to get into shape. More to come later if I feel like it or survive.

So we've been here in Windsor for a week now. We have had some wonderful wine. Chateau St Jean has got to be one of the finest wineries that I have been to. We did a reserve tasting that lasted about three hours. They truly have some spectacular wines. We left a lot of cash with them. We also decided to do some Russian River canoeing with Burke's Canoe Trips. It started out a little stressful. The guy behind the counter was a total jerk. We ignored him and headed down to get canoes and start our adventure. The river started out a little rough. We ended up in the bushes, lost our hats but didn't dump. We did go down river and retrieved our hats. The rest of the day was uneventful and we all had a really good time. Today we went to the Charles Schultz museum (you know the peanuts cartoon guy), then went to Longboards Wine to do a little tasting. We tasted a 2007 Merlot they had just bottled. Those bottles need to sit a few more years before they mature. Then we were off to Johnny Garlic's for lunch. We have had a great time and will be back sometime soon. (probably when we run out of wine)

Well we're back supporting the economy again. You know, yet another vacation or mini vacation. This time we are taking some time with our friends in Windsor California. For those who may not know this is Wine country. It may not be your ideal area but this area has been producing quality- - - well at least wine for a long time. I was here some 30 odd years ago and boy has it changed. They charge for wine tasting. Even if you buy some they still charge you to taste it. Well I guess there were far too many people out for a quick sip and run without the buying part. Over the next week we will be doing our fare share of tasting and buying. I prefer the drinking part myself tasting is like a little tease. Gimme the bottle or at least a decent glass a sip just doesn't do a good wine justice.

Remember if you disagree with me I really don't care.

Just got back home Bummer I have to go to work

Well we got back from Hawaii, Bummer
We had a really great time and did some amazing hikes and spent time on some of the most beautuful beaches in the world. We even saw the guy in the white Jeep at Secret Beach. So I guess he is still there harrasing people, He didn't bother us. Someone built a house right at the end of the dirt road that leads to the beach. I'll bet the have a great view.

So now it's back to work. I can't wait for our next adventure

Tunnels Beach Kauai

We went to Tunnels Beach in Kauai today.
The rain finally stopped and the weather is great. We snorkeled, swam and saw a ton of fish.
There was even a Monk Seal soaking up the warm sun.
You know they say Tunnels is a nude beach Yep it is. I can verify that there were two boys and two girls without a stitch of clothing and they were all under the age of 4. Tunnels is a great place to kick back and soak up some Hawaiian Sun and just Chill. Next time you are in Kauai check it out.

It's about time

I figured it was about time I join the 21st century and create a Blog. I don't expect anyone to actually read this stuff but I thought what the heck. Once in a while I have something to say or some news to publish or maybe just some gibberish to sent to cyberspace or someones bit bucket. So sit back relax and maybe I will post something every six months or so.

After all this is my spot and I don't really care if you're here or not.
